Scorion Integration with Canvas Gradebook

Scorion has recently completed successful testing of the integration with the Canvas gradebook. The demand to send Scorion results directly into the Canvas gradebook came especially from U.S. programs. This linkage is also achievable for university medical centres in the Netherlands.

For programs using programmatic assessment, competency-based models, or other holistic educational approaches, this can greatly reduce administrative overhead. For example, EPA results can now be linked with the gradebook.

Canvas meets Scorion

Programmatic Assessment

A core part of programmatic assessment and working with EPAs is collecting data points. These data points may involve different assessment formats, such as reflection, peer feedback, workplace observation, or a student producing or submitting an assignment or product. That yields a lot of data, which some programs previously processed manually or via bulk import. With the integration, those time-consuming tasks are now a thing of the past.

LMS Integration

Scorion can integrate with a variety of systems. The platform works with a comprehensive API — an interface that other systems can call easily and securely. Naturally, proper security measures are in place. Canvas is one of the latest integrations to be completed. Recently, an integration with Turnitin was also added.

Seamless Linkage, Big Impact

Integrations are very important to Scorion. The main reason is that we want to make it as easy as possible for users and administrators to work with Scorion. Often the people teaching in workplace-based settings are already busy supervising, carrying out actions, or observing students. Extra administration is the last thing they want. That’s why Scorion is almost always integrated with the institution’s user database so that users can log in easily and seamlessly.
